A ninth person has now died from dengue

An additional Dengue related death has been reported by the Health Ministry.

There are now nine lab-confirmed fatalities in T&T and 911 lab confirmed cases.

Persons experiencing Dengue symptoms are urged to seek medical attention.

These symptoms include: fever, headaches, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pains, skin rash, nausea/vomiting and diarrhoea.

The Ministry adds that persons with symptoms should not use aspirin, motrin, cataflam, olfen or ibuprofen, as these can cause bleeding which leads to shock.

They are instead advised to use paracetamol, acetaminophen (Panadol/Tylenol) or medicines prescribed by a doctor.
