Police Commissioner Gary Griffith said he is currently in talks with the Minister of Health to make the new drug on the market, the zesser pill, illegal. He said only then can the police have the authorization to take the necessary action against persons who use and administer the drugs.
Griffith said that because the pill is a combination drug (a mix of cocaine and ecstasy), it is difficult to decide how/if a person can be charged for having it in their possession. In the interim Griffith said that the drugs are seized when they are found, and young persons are being educated about the negative effects of the drugs’ use.
