The Office of the Chief Secretary (OCS) recently compensated nine fishermen, whose boats were damaged at sea during the passing of adverse weather conditions in the past.
Cheques amounting to a total of $171,296.24 were disbursed to the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) for distribution to the nine fishermen.
The OCS and TEMA have advised fisherfolk to always pay close attention to hazard warnings issued by the relevant authorities and ensure that the appropriate steps are taken to protect their lives and property.
