76 persons found by Coast Guard on overloaded vessel in Chaguaramas

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard intercepted an overloaded vessel in the waters off the coast of Chaguaramas on Sunday.

According to TTCG PRO, Khadija Lamy, the vessel was intercepted and escorted back to Alcan Bay where a head count was done.

Onboard were 76 passengers and crew – 40 females and 36 males.

All persons were handed over to the Police Service for further processing.

The Coast Guard is now reminding all citizens and other maritime users that, in accordance with current Public Health regulations, it is illegal to be a part of any gathering exceeding 10 persons while engaged in any marine activity.
