At present there are six hundred police officers who utilise the body cameras in the fight against crime.
The update was provided by Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, during an interview on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital on Wednesday.
Mr Jacob said additional officers will be equipped with the device when on-going training in Tobago is completed.
Mr Jacob is hoping by August one thousand officers should be equipped with body cameras.
