56 persons ticketed in Pt Fortin

A joint anti-crime exercise conducted in Pt Fortin and environs by various arms of the Municipal Police resulted in the seizure of a quantity of marijuana and the issuance of 56 fixed penalty notices.

Conducted between the hours of 2:30 am to 2:30 pm on Thursday 18th March 2021, the joint exercise resulted in the seizure of 464 grammes of marijuana, 48 marijuana seedlings, and four marijuana trees.

Additionally, 56 fixed penalty notices were issued for various traffic offences, five face mask tickets were issued, 191 stop and search forms completed, two vehicles were impounded, and 739 vehicles were stopped and searched.

The exercise was coordinated by ACP Surrendra Sagramsingh, Snr Supt Cecil Santana, Snr Supt Curtis Belford and Snr Supt Wayne Mohammed, supervised by W/Supt Andrews-King, Ag/Supt Renn, Ag/ASP Ayoung, Ag/ASP Harripersad, Insp Bridgemohan, Insp Fraser, Ag/Insp Hinkson, Ag W/Insp Daly-Bowrin, Ag/Insp White and Ag/Insp Lewis in company with officers of the Pt Fortin Municipal Police, San Fernando Municipal Police, Princes Town Municipal Police, Mayaro/Rio Claro Municipal Police, Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Municipal Police, Siparia Municipal Police and the Municipal Police Academy.

Investigations are continuing.
