Fifty-three men were granted bail for breaking the new Public Health Regulations which limits gatherings to 25.
Last Friday, police stormed a bar along Belle Eau Road, Belmont and found 61 persons in breach of the regulations.
Among the guilty was Cedric “Burkie” Burke, a Sealots businessman.
The 53 appeared before a Port-of-Spain magistrate and was granted bail.
The matter was adjourned to August 3.
Under the Public Health Ordinance, gathering in groups of more than 25 are prohibited, and a person found in breach faces a maximum penalty of a $50,000 fine and up to six months in prison.
