$50,000 bail for Williamsville student following stabbing

Bail in the sum of $50,000 has been granted to the female student from Williamsville Secondary School, who is accused of seriously wounding her schoolmate with a knife during a fight after school.

The 15-year-old Form Two student appeared virtually before Justice Jade Rodriguez in the Fyzabad Juvenile Court on Friday and pleaded not guilty to the offence of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a weapon.

The charges stemmed from a fight on Monday following the dismissal of school, in which another 15-year-old Form Two student was stabbed and slashed across the face with a knife. The victim also received wounds to her chest and arms.

The judge granted the accused bail on the condition that she has no direct contact with the victim or through social media.

The was adjourned to July 21.
