Five men of Central Trinidad were arrested by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) in connection with a total of 63 sexual offences against minors.
The CPU officers, conducted an anti-crime exercise between 8:00am and 3:00 pm on Friday.
During the exercise, five suspects, ages 24 to 70, were arrested for various offences against minors including sexual touching and sexual penetration.
Charges will be laid this weekend and the men will appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Monday 18th May to answer to the charges.
With the recent spike in sexual offences against minors, the CPU urges parents and guardians to be extremely vigilant and to take all preventative and cautionary measures to ensure their children’s safety.
