49 Venezuelans arrested for illegal entry

The TTPS arrested 49 Venezuelan nationals during a coordinated operation on Sunday.

Between 11:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024, and 6:00 am on Sunday, August 11, 2024, a well-coordinated operation was conducted by the Immigration Investigations Unit, Immigration Division, IATF, and CID Task Force.

During this operation, a total of 49 Venezuelan nationals comprising 41 females and 8 males were apprehended for illegal entry into the country. Officers conducted searches at multiple locations across the Central Division based on actionable intelligence.

The individuals were scheduled to be transferred to the Immigration Detention Centre in Aripo for further processing.

This initiative was spearheaded by Senior Supt. Singh, Supt. Ettienne, ASP Sookdeo, Insp. Phillip, and Sgt. Daulat, with direct supervision from Cpl. Richardson, W/Cpl. Parks, Cpl. Blake, IO4 Blake, and Youskee.

This exercise was conducted without incident and remains part of the ongoing efforts by the Immigration Division and TTPS Immigration Investigations Unit of the CID/CRO to ensure compliance with immigration laws.
