A 44-year-old man was chopped in the head during an altercation on Saturday night.
According to reports, the 44-year-old and his attacker – a 20-year-old man, were at a house on Unity Trace, Bon Air, Arouca around 8.30 pm when the younger man got into an argument with a woman in the house.
When the 44-year-old attempted to intervene, the 20-year-old threatened him and then left.
However, the young man returned a few minutes later, armed with a cutlass and attacked the older man. He dealt the man chops to the left side of his head and both hands.
The 20-year-old man then fled the scene.
The 44-year-old man was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he was treated.
Police were able to apprehend the attacker.
