43 new Covid cases as 9 remain in ICU

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that 43 additional persons have tested positive for COVID -19

These new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the County Medical Officers of Health (CMOHs).

The Ministry then provided the clinical update as at the morning of Friday October 1:

Number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and other local sites for testing for COVID-19- 31,759

Number of unique patient tests completed- 28,696

Number of repeated tests- 3,063

Number of samples which have tested positive at public and private facilities in Trinidad and Tobago- 4,613

Total number of active cases- 1,808

Number of deaths- 76

Number of persons discharged from public health facilities- 1,079

Number of recovered community cases- 1,650

 

There are 102 Covid-19 patients in the hospital:

Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility- 65 (6 ICU and 10 HDU)

Caura Hospital- 29

Arima General Hospital- 3 (ICU)

St Ann’s Hospital- 3

Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort- 2

Scarborough General Hospital, Signal Hill- 1

 

There are 12 COVID-19 Positive Patients in Step-down / Transition Facilities:

UWI, Debe- 7

Tobago- 5
