41 year old Barrackpore man held with two pistols and ammo

One man was arrested, two pistols and quantities of ammunition seized, by officers of the Ste. Madeleine Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Princes Town district yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise on Sunday 15th September 2019, during which they proceeded to a bushy area at St. Charles Road, Princes Town, where they found a makeshift camp occupied by one male suspect.

A search of the camp resulted in officers finding a black bag containing a Sphinx pistol loaded with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition and a Beretta pistol also loaded with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition.

The suspect; a 41-year-old man of New Colonial Road, Barrackpore was arrested in connection with the finds.

Investigations are ongoing.
