$40k stolen from man minutes after he withdraws it from bank in Chaguanas

Police are once again advising citizens to not make themselves soft targets for criminal elements, especially after making transactions from financial institutions.

This latest warning comes after a 39-year-old man was robbed of $40,000 after withdrawing money from the Republic Bank in Valsayn.

Thw man reported that on Wednesday morning he visited Republic Bank and withdrew the money and was making his way to Savannah Drive in Chaguanas where he parked and secured his Toyota Hilux along the road.

He left the money in an envelope in the centre console and went away.

Upon returning aroud 11.40 a.m. he observed that the right side driver’s window was broken.

When he checked inside his vehicle, he realised the cash was missing.
