$4 Billion Price Tag To Ensure State Of Readiness For Schools’ Reopening Next Month, Says PM Rowley.

Four billion dollars is the cost to tax payers, to ensure schools are in a state of readiness for reopening next month.

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, says the money to accomplish this came directly from the cash flow of the State.

Dr Rowley says, in the past, the government used funding acquired from international lending institutions such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank to construction some of Trinidad and Tobago’s Secondary Schools.

Dr Rowley revealed this while giving the feature address at the handing over ceremony for the newly constructed San Juan Government Primary School, on Monday.

The Prime Minister also cited situations where money had to be borrowed by the government two years ago to honour its various commitments identified as priority areas such as building schools.
