A 38-year-old Claxton Bay man was killed on Saturday night when his car crashed into an iron railing along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway.
The victim is Kamal Bhopsingh, of Mt Pleasant Road, Springvale, Claxton Bay.
The incident occurred at around 11:35 pm.
Highway patrol officers said they responded to a report near the Guaracara River on the highway and on arrival, found Bhopsingh lying dead on the western side of the highway.
His car had crashed against an iron railing facing south.
District Medical Officer Dr Bachan visited the scene and ordered the body removed to the San Fernando mortuary.
