33 year old man is expected to appear before Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court for murder

A Sangre Grande man is expected to appear before the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court today, charged with the murder of Timothy Daniel, which occurred on Sunday 18th August 2019.

Randy Warren, a 33-year-old welder of Damarie Hill, also faced charges of possession of firearm and ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Thursday 26th September 2019.

Mr. Daniel, a 37-year-old labourer, was at his Damarie Hill home at 11:45pm on Sunday 18th August 2019, when he heard a noise outside his house and proceeded to investigate. Upon checking, the victim was shot by an armed assailant. He later succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

An investigation into the incident was launched and resulted in the accused being arrested on Monday 23rd September 2019.

Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Dhilpaul, of the Homicide

Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2, while charges were laid by PC Lewis, also of HBI Region 2.
