31 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded, taking active cases to 752 and the total number of positive cases to 930.
According to the Health Ministry’s 6PM update, the 31 cases are from samples taken between August 14th and 21st 2020 and are not representative of positive cases in the past 24 hours alone.
Earlier today, it was revealed that 600 samples remain in the backlog to be tested and that it is expected that the pile up is cleared by this time next week.
The number of samples submitted to CARPHA and other labs for testing was 19,123.
The number of people discharged remained at 165, as did the number of deaths at 13.
The Ministry of Health is advising people to observe public health regulations and wear face masks when in public. People are also encouraged to practice physical distancing and regular hygiene.
