Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh confirmed the good news on Friday morning, during the Ministry’s daily press conference.
The Minister said in a previous press conference that the community testing will be done as a way to mange the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and also to determine what other illnesses or diseases are currently circulating within the country.
The Minister of Health then provided the following update:
Number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) for testing for COVID-19- 1772
Number of unique patient tests completed- 1452
Number of repeated tests- 320
Number of samples which have tested positive- 116
Number of deaths- 8
Number of persons discharged- 73
There are six patients at the Couva Facility- all ambulatory and showing low or no symptoms.
In the Sangre Grande Centre, there are eight patients while there are 21 persons at the Home of Football, Couva.
