3 vehicles taken during robberies returned to owners

Officers of the Stolen Vehicle Squad (SVS) recovered three vehicles that were taken from their owners during robberies this year.

The vehicles – a Nissan Latio, a Kia Cerato and a Mitsubishi Lancer – were recovered on May 11th and SVS officers are currently following leads into these incidents.

According to police reports, on Wednesday, officers received reports that a Nissan Latio was seen parked along Thomashine Street, Success Village, Laventille. The officers canvassed the vicinity to ascertain who parked the vehicle, further investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen from St. Michael Road, Tacarigua around 7.30 am on the same date.

In another incident, officers were on mobile patrol in the North-Eastern Division around 12.45 pm on the same date when they received information that led them to Fat Man Hill, Prizgar Lands, Laventille.
Upon the officers’ arrival at the location they discovered a Silver Kia Cerato parked along the roadway where further checks revealed that the vehicle was taken during a robbery with violence incident.

SVS officers were also alerted to a Silver Mitsubishi Lancer unattended along Mendoza Road, Belmont. The vehicle was reported stolen on January 29 along First Avenue, Barataria.
The vehicles were processed by crime scene investigators and the owners of the vehicles contacted.
Investigations are ongoing.
