3 shot and wounded, 1 bandit chopped during home invasion

Police are investigating a home invasion on Wednesday night, which left three men nursing gunshot wounds and a bandit chopped.

Preliminary reports state that armed bandits attempted to rob the home of a farmer at Centenary Street Extension, Tunapuna just after 7pm, when a struggle ensued.

During the melee, three people who lived on the premises were shot – one to the chest, the other two in the leg.

However, one of the victims, who had armed himself with a cutlass, was able to deal one of the bandits a chop to the body, but the suspects all managed to escape in a cream coloured Nissan Almera.

Medical institutions are asked to be on the alert.

The victims were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex to be treated.
