Twenty nine year old Law clerk Kristian Sirjusingh was killed in a bar on Bonne Adventure road around 8:30pm yesterday.
He went to the bar in Gasparillo which was a short distance from his home to celebrate with his father Steve Sirjusingh on his 66th birthday.
During the celebration three men came into the establishment and robbed the place shooting both Sirjusingh and a friend who was celebrating with them. Sirjusingh died at the scene. He worked as a Law clerk in Chaguanas.
His father described the ordeal where the bandits entered the bar and announced the hold up instructing his son and friend to lie on the floor. The senior Sirjusingh was able to escape with a woman who was also at the bar. A short while later he heard four explosions believed to be gunshots but could not return right away because he feared for his life.
He also said his son was a devoted father of one son and a hard worker and did not deserve to die in that manner.
His friend was taken to hospital and treated. The bar owner escaped injury by locking himself in a room during the robbery. He only recently opened the establishment.
