27-year-old man charged with 2020 murder of Brianna Parks

A St. James man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today charged with the 2020 murder of Brianna Parks.

KELVIN ANDREWS, 27, of Upper Bournes Road, St James, was charged with the offence, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Joan Honore-Paul on Monday 8th March, 2021.

Brianna, 17, of Upper Bournes Road, St. James, was at a house at Long Circular Road, on Monday 22nd June, 2020, when she was shot in the stomach by a gunman who then fled the scene. She was taken to the St. James Medical Facility for treatment where she later died.

The accused was arrested in connection with the incident on Wednesday 3rd March, 2021 by officers of the Western Division.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Burnett and Insp. Lynch of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 1, while Andrews was charged by PC Abraham also of HBI Region 1, on Monday 8th March, 2021.
