24 charged for drinking in public and 33 charged for breaking curfew in Tobago

The Tobago Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says that it has seen the highest number of curfew breaches in the country.

This was revealed from Assisstant Commissioner of Police, Tobago William Nurse during a media briefing yesterday.

Four persons breached the curfew on Monday while one person was ticketed for not wearing a mask.

Overall 24 persons were charged for consuming alcohol in a public place, 33 breached the curfew, 4 were charged with gathering in a public place, 3 were held on a beach in Speyside and 3 others were charged for being at the workplace while not being essential workers.

Also speakng at the briefing Inspector (Ag) Crime Alicia Piggott said that a number of persons lied to the police in order to flout Covid regulations.
