Public Reminded Of Importance Of Being Fully Vaccinated Against Covid19

The public is reminded of the importance of being fully vaccinated not only against Covid-19 but against other diseases.

The advice comes from Manager of the Expanded Programme for Immunization, Grace Sookchan.

Her caution comes on the heels of the recently launch vaccination week in the Americas.

Recently the Pan American Health Organization said in 2020, 2.7 million children in the Americas did not receive the essential vaccines needed to keep them healthy due to interruptions in health services caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

PAHO said since the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines in the region 15 months ago, more than 66% of people in Latin America and the Caribbean have been fully vaccinated.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital Tuesday, Ms Sookchan admitted inoculation against Covid-19 has been in the spotlight but there are other vaccines of critical significance which also needs to be highlighted.
