A two-year-old boy has died in a suspected drowning incident in Couva.
Reports are that little Romello Drakes was at a speech therapy school in Esperanza, Couva when the accident occurred.
Relatives went to pick up the child around midday Tuesday and were notified only then, that there was an emergency and that a school official was trying to resuscitate Drakes in the backyard of the compound, where a pool was located.
Drakes was taken to the Couva Health Facility but died shortly after arrival.
An autopsy is expected to be performed today at the Forensic Science Center in St James.
