2 minors among 4 charged for house robbery

Two 17-year-old minors are among four suspects expected to appear virtually before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today charged in connection with a May 10th house breaking incident in Valencia.

The minors were jointly charged yesterday with Tyrice John, 18, and Levi James, aka ‘Levi Paul,’ 22, all of Valencia, for House Breaking and Larceny by WPC Williams-James of the Valencia Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

They were wanted by detectives who were investigating a report in which a homeowner told police that after securing his dwelling, it was allegedly broken into and several items were stolen.

Police reports say at 3.30 pm on May 10th, the homeowner returned to his property where he observed the front and back door of his house open. He said that upon entering his home he saw the house ransacked and later discovered several jewellery, alcoholic beverages and cash missing.

A report was made to the Valencia Police Post and officers of the Valencia Police Station, CID, Special Operations Unit and crime scene experts responded.

Following further enquiries by the Valencia CID, the suspects were arrested and jointly charged with the offence.
