2 men remanded for robbery with aggravation in Tobago

Two men appeared before Master Shabiki Cazabon for Robbery with Aggravation, in separate incidents on Monday.

Both matters were transferred to the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court and postponed to July 2nd.
The men were remanded into custody and can apply for bail before a judge in chambers.

In the first incident, on May 29th, a woman, 21, was at work, at a department store located along Montgomery Junction, Bethel, when she was accosted by a man who pointed a firearm at her, the woman became fearful and handed over TT$350.00. The man then fled the scene.

A report was made to police who were on patrol along Bower Road, New Grange, Sou Sou Land when they observed a man matching the description of the suspect.

Officers approached the man and identified themselves, based on their suspicion, they had cause to conduct a search where they discovered, a black hoodie, one pair of black jeans pants, one black toy gun, one can of black spray paint and TT$350.00.

ISAIAH JOINTE, 19, of Riseland Trace, Carnbee was immediately arrested and taken to the Shirvan Road Police Station where he was subsequently charged.

In the second incident, on May 27th, around 11:45 am a 26-year-old cashier of Patience Hill, was at her place of employment, in the service booth at a car wash located at Gulf City Mall,
Lowlands, along with another employee when two masked men one armed with a firearm announced a robbery.
The employee became fearful for her life and handed over the cash register drawer containing TT$1470.00, the men then fled the scene.

The police were called in and an investigation was launched, police apprehended a suspect and a black cash register draw was also discovered.

JARON SOLOMON, 21, of Riseland, Bethel was arrested and charged on May 27th.
