Two Coast Guard officers were each granted bail of $85,000 when they appeared before a magistrate on Tuesday charged for breaching the Public Health Ordinance.
Forty-year old Shane Eccles and thirty-one year old Roger Moore pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Court heard that on Saturday 23rd May, police officers from the Arima station went to a house at Samaroo Village, Arima and arrested seven persons, including the Coast Guard officers.
The seven were arrested the second time the officers visited, as the officers warned them about the gathering before they left.
When the group reconvened, the officers visited the house again and arrested the group.
The matter was adjourned to August 27.
The ordinance restricts public gatherings of more than five people.
The offence carries a penalty of a $50,000 or six months in prison.
