One Mac ten sub machine gun, with a magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition was seized by officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) on Thursday 7th January, 2021 in Jacob Hill, Wallerfield.
Around 9pm, based on intelligence, members of SORT proceeded to an abandoned building on Mulberry Crescent, Jacob Hill. Along a track, in an overgrown area near the building, the team observed two men in dark clothing who fled after seeing the officers. The officers gave chase and detained two men in the vicinity for questioning.
The firearm with ammunition was found and seized during a search of the area.
