An 18-year-old boy, identified as Jaheim Joseph, was shot and killed by police during an incident overnight in Laventille.
Reports state that officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force were conducting operations in Mango Alley, Laventille, when they came across a group of men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
It is said that the young man pointed the weapon at officers, forcing them to retaliate.
The injured man was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Two firearms were recovered at the scene.
