17-year-old among four arrested during DUI exercise in POS

Four persons have been arrested during a roving road check exercise conducted by the Driving Under the Influence Task Force, Port of Spain Division this past weekend.

The exercise was conducted between the hours of 11:45 pm on Saturday 6th July 2024 to 4:00 am on Sunday 7th July 2024 and was coordinated by Snr Supt Thom, and spearheaded by Superintendent Ramsook, ASP Ramlogan and Inspectors Sooklalsingh and Braithwaite and saw the arrest of a 39 year old man of Penco Lodge, Chaguanas.

He was over the prescribed limit by 72 mg per 100 ml of breath.

A 56 year old man of Seaview Gardens, who was over the limit by 56 mg per 100 ml of breath was also arrested, along with a 17 year old of Tacarigua, who was over the prescribed limit by 62 mg per 100 ml of breath and a 36 year old man of Arima who was over the limit by 56 mg per 100 ml of breath.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is appealing to citizens to cease the practise of drinking and driving and designate a driver if you know you are consuming alcohol during festivities, as drunk driving poses an unacceptable risks to all road users.
