Sixteen more persons have tested positive for the Covid-19 Delta Variant of Concern.
The Ministry of Health says this brings to 102 the total number of Covid-19 Delta variant cases which have been confirmed for Trinidad and Tobago.
In its latest clinical update on Friday afternoon, the Ministry said 15 cases had no travel history.
It said eight had prior contact with other positive cases.
The Ministry said seven cases are fully vaccinated while eight cases are unvaccinated.
One case the Ministry said is pending epidemiological investigation.
The presence of the Delta variant was confirmed via gene sequencing at the laboratory of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus.
