$150,000 bail granted to man charged with sexual assault against two minors

An 18-year-old man who appeared before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate yesterday charged with sexual assault against two girls was granted $150,000 bail with a surety.

The accused will reappear before the court on March 15th.

A TTPS report states the suspect, who resides in Carenage, was arrested by detectives of the Western Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) on February 10th and subsequently charged by PC Burton with two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of two children and one count of sexual penetration of a child.

The acts were allegedly performed on an eight-year-old and nine-year-old girl sometime between December 31st 2020 and February 6th 2021.

Enquiries into this case were headed by W/Supt (Ag.) Claire Guy-Alleyne, Insp Aroon and Sgt (Ag.) James.
