Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said that Parliament would meet on Wednesday to deliberate on the list of five nominees submitted by President Paula Mae Weeks to appoint the Police Service Commission.
However the Opposition United National Congress is concerned with three names on the list.
They say it is a matter of conflict of interest.
Opposition Senator Wade Mark has called on the President to clarify some information regarding the three names on the list of nominees.
He says the first is an employee of a Security and Public Safety Company owned by a major security firm in T&T.
He maintains that while there is no problem with the employee’s character, the parent company transports prisoners and also applies to the Commissioner of Police for licenses to import firearms.
He said in light of this there could be reproach if that person is appointed to the PSC.
