An accident in South has claimed the life a 13-year-old boy.
Dead is Zion Roop of Guapo.
The teen was reportedly crossing the roadway in Gonzales Village, when he was hit by a vehicle, driven by an estate constable.
The man told police that the incident took place at around 3.20 pm Monday, while he was heading towards La Brea along Southern Main Road, Gonzales Village.
The man, who drives a silver Mercedes Benz, said he saw the boy standing on the left side of the roadway near IAI Road. He claimed the child suddenly ran across the road and he swerved to the left to avoid hitting him, but he still collided with the boy.
The boy was rushed by to the Point Fortin Area Hospital by bystanders, but died on arrival.
