12 Venezuelans reportedly drown on the way to Trinidad

There are reports that 12 Venezuelan nationals have drowned while trying to make it to Trinidad. Authorities have recovered 11 bodies thus far. Reports are that bodies of those who drowned were found in the waters off the coastal town of Guiria.

This has been described as one of the main places where Venezuelan migrants and illegal immigrants have made the journey to Trinidad. Reports are that there are children among those who have drowned.
