10 persons held for breach of Public Health Regulations

A total of ten persons were arrested in two policing Divisions within the last 24 years for breach of Public Health Regulations.

In the first incident, seven men were arrested and charged in Freeport for breach of Public Health Regulations, when they were allegedly observed performing construction duties.

All seven were granted station bail and are expected to appear at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16th August, 2021 to answer the charges.

In the other incident, three men were arrested and charged in Barataria, Aranguez and El Socorro (North Eastern Division) when they were found to be consuming alcohol in a public place.

The exercise in Freeport was coordinated by Snr Supt Curt Simon, Supt Pierre, Insp Ramsumair, and supervised by Cpl. Umaid, while the exercise in the North Eastern Division was coordinated by Ag.Insp Daniel and supervised by Ag.Sgt Murray and Ag.Sgt Pierre.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service continues to urge citizens to adhere to the Emergency Powers and Public Health Regulations.
