Although an autopsy is needed to confirm the death of a pregnant 15-year-old girl, evidence suggests that she may have committed suicide. Natisha Frederick who is a student of San Juan North Secondary School was found by her 13-year-old sister at the family’s San Juan home yesterday afternoon.
Two positive pregnancy tests were found next to the girl. Police also found a transparent packet with the markings ‘Amoxil 500 mg’, containing a number of red and yellow capsules, and a number of circular orange tablets. Amoxil is an antibiotic that must be prescribed by a doctor. The girl told her father that she was unwell, and was having severe stomach pains and vomiting. He gave her saffron tea and unprescribed antibiotics to ease the pain at around 1 p.m. 10 minutes later, her sister found her dead.
An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the cause of death.
